The Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics provides outpatient services for patients visiting our clinics. The department’s team is responsible for assessing the nutritional needs of inpatients, as well as the design and implementation of the hospital’s menu.

Outpatient clinics:

  • Our outpatient clinics focus on monitoring and supporting patients with the following conditions
  • Diabetes mellitus (Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes), in collaboration with the Diabetes Clinic.
  • Nephrological diseases (chronic kidney disease, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), in collaboration with the Nephrology Clinic.
  • Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal System disorders.
  • Liver and pancreatic disease.
  • Obesity (Morbid Obesity, in collaboration with the Obesity unit of the Surgery Clinic, and Childhood Obesity in collaboration with the Paediatric Clinic)
  • Cancer
  • Circulatory diseases and heart diseases
  • Patients receiving artificial nutrition
  • Dysphagia
  • Malnutrition
  • Eating disorders

Inpatient services:

Inpatients are referred to the Nutrition-Dietetics Department for nutritional evaluation upon admission to the hospital. Our team assesses their nutritional status and provides guidance while the treatment team monitors the outcomes.

Hospital menu:

The Nutrition and Dietetics Department designs the hospital menu, along with various therapeutic diets. It is also responsible for their proper implementation through close collaboration with all food services involved.
