The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is the Hospital’s department where seriously ill patients suffering from any pathophysiology, with potentially irreversible damage to their health, such as: multi-injuries with acute respiratory failure due to various causes, circulatory dysfunction, acute pancreatitis, multi-organ failure, strokes, poisonings, metabolic disorders, acute coronary syndromes, sepsis, CNS infections, etc. The ICU of Famagusta General Hospital has a capacity of 6 intensive care beds. It is fully equipped with cutting-edge equipment and staffed with highly experienced medical and nursing staff. The treatment in the Intensive care unit includes pharmacological and mechanical vital life support, infection treatment and prevention, nutrition, specialised medication and physiotherapy.
