Pediatric Gastroenterology
Dr. Elena Savvidou graduated in 2008 from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Shortly after she moved to Germany where she specialised for five years in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in the Pediatric Clinic Marienhospital Bottrop and the University Pediatric Clinic of Helios Klinikum Wuppertal. In 2014 she received the title of pediatric specialist from the North Rhine-Westphalia Medical Association. Then for three years she specialised in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at the University Pediatric Clinic of Ruhr University Bochum – St. Josefs Hospital and in 2017 she acquired the medical specialty title of Pediatric Gastroenterology after succeeding in the corresponding examinations of the Medical Association of Westfalen-Lippe. She also holds the title of specialisation in Pediatric Nutrition (Pediatric Nutritional Medicine) after completion of the approved programme of the German Pediatric Society of the Medical Association of Westfalen-Lippe. She returned to Cyprus in January 2018 and joined the team of the Pediatric Liver. Gastroenterology and Nutrition Centre at Archbishop Makarios III Hospital and King’s College Hospital as Medical Officer A. In the framework of her specialisation she addresses the whole range of Digestive diseases as well as carries out endoscopy of the upper and lower digestive tract, polypectomy, endoscopic gastrostomy placement, interventional endoscopy and wireless endoscope capsule in pediatric patients. Since 2019 she collaborates with the Medical School of the University of Cyprus as a Scientific Specialist and a ward doctor. During her professional career she has participated in many international and local conferences with written and oral presentations and is a member of international and local scientific associations.
