Diabetes type 1
Dr Elena Sotiriou graduated from University of Patra’s medical school in Greece. She completed training in Pediatrics at Miami Children’s Hospital in USA and she is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She continued training in Neonatology and Pediatrics in United Kingdom for one more year. She then worked as an in-house pediatrician in a private clinic in Cyprus. In 2015 she was awarded with scholarship from European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology and completed three month training in pediatric diabetes and endocrinology at Oxford University Hospital. From July 2017 she is working as pediatrician at Limassol General Hospital where she is also running diabetes clinic for children and adolescents. In August 2019 she returned to Oxford for further training in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. She is currently accepted for an online master degree in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Queen Mary University in UK and she was awarded with a PhD from University of Nicosia in Cyprus which she plans to focus on diabetes type 1 and to start upon the completion of her master’s degree.
