Dr. Constantinos Parperis is a Lecturer in Medicine / Rheumatology at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Rheumatology, at the University of Arizona Medical School in Phoenix, USA. He received his medical degree from the University of Patras and during the last year of his studies he participated in clinical training at Yale University. He then completed his specialisation in Pathology at Bridgeport Hospital / Yale University School of Medicine and his subspecialty in Rheumatology at Wisconsin Medical School. Dr. Parperis has an active role as a clinical medicine instructor in the field of Pathology-Rheumatology and has received the “Teacher of the Year Award” from the Department of Medicine in Arizona. He has also been awarded by patients for outstanding care with the Performing Outstanding Excellence Together (POET) award for outstanding patient care (Wisconsin Medical School). Dr. Parperis has more than 40 publications in scientific journals and his research interests include patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), study of prognostic factors in patients with rheumatism who are admitted to the ICU- burns and crystal arthropathy unit. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
