Pediatric Neurology
Dr. Marina Gavatha specialises in child neurology. She is a renowned pediatric neurologist, a member of the International and European Society of Pediatric Neurology, the Greek Pediatric Neurology Society and the Greek Neurology Society. Her long medical education took place in Hospitals in Greece, Cyprus and the United States (Michigan). She published papers and articles related to her field of expertise and participated in local and international conferences with presentations and announcements. She completed her studies in Thessaly Medical School in Greece in 2001 and then served a 15-month field service as a rural doctor. She specialised in Pediatrics following four years of training at the Archbishop Makarios III Hospital Nicosia. During the specialty of Pediatrics she has worked with the Head of Clinical Pediatric Neurology † Dr. Goula Stylianidou and her training was focused on Child Neurology. Then she was Director of Research Cyprus International Institute for the Environment and Public Health in collaboration with Harvard school of Public Health. She was given a scholarship by the Republic of Cyprus and she subsequently specialised in Pediatric Neurology following a three-year training in hospitals, Penteli Children’s Hospital in Athens – Department of pediatric neurology where she worked under the supervision of Dr. Antigone Papavasileiou and Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, USA – Department of Neurology, where she worked with President of the International Child Neurology Association – ICNA, specialising in Epilepsy and Neurophysiology. Today she offers her services to the children of Cyprus and their families through the Department of Pediatric Neurology of Archbishop Makarios III Hospital in Nicosia.
