Dr. Melina Karittevli Kousiou completed her studies in Greece where she graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She then worked as a trainee doctor at the General Hospital of Nicosia. She continued her education at the Pulmonary Clinic of the General Hospital of Papanikolaou, Thessaloniki and completed the specialty of Pulmonology at the Pulmonary Clinic of the General Hospital of Nicosia. In the meantime she also worked as an oncology assistant at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center. During her specialty she practiced in the department with patients after ICU treatment, in the outpatient department of oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation for patients with chronic respiratory failure and evaluation of patients with sleep disorders, with significant experience in the application of non-invasive mechanical ventilation and the use of ultrasound in the diagnostic approach of patients with pleural disorders. She dealt with tuberculosis and worked at outpatient department to monitor their treatment, in addition she practiced in the department of invasive pulmonology of GH Papanikolaou Thessaloniki in performing diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies. She obtained the title of specialty of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in 2021
