Dr. Panagiota Georgiou graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree with distinction, being the top student in her graduation class. She returned to Cyprus where she was trained at the Nicosia General Hospital, including a short training at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and she received the title of Cardiology from the University of Thessaloniki in 2012. She then worked as a Cardiologist at Kyperounta Hospital for 2 years and at the same time she attained a master’s degree in Health Units Management from the Open University of Cyprus. In the period 2014-2016 she specialised in the Intensive Care Unit at the General Hospital of Nicosia and received the specialisation of Intensive Care from the University of Thessaloniki. Since November 2016, she has been working at the Cardiology Clinic of Larnaca General Hospital, where she monitors inpatients and outpatients, performs transthoracic and esophageal echo, stress echo, fatigue tests, 24-hour electrocardiographic monitoring and manages acute patients and chronic heart patients. The doctor is a member of the Cyprus Resuscitation Council and an active trainer in specialised life support seminars since 2009.
