Dr Stavros Gravas

Dr. Stavros Gravas is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1989) and a doctor of the same University. He obtained the titles of Urology Specialist and Fellow of the European Board of Urology in 1999. He specialised in Endourology at the University Hospital of St. Radboud in Nijmegen, The Netherlands and trained in Brachytherapy for prostate cancer at AMC University Hospital in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
He completed a PhD Thesis at the University of Amsterdam (2007). Prior to his appointment to the rank of Professor of Urology at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus, he served as Professor of Urology at the Department of Medicine at the University of Thessaly. He is a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the International Society of Urology (Société Internationale d ’Urologie, SIU) and Chairman of the SIU Education and Consensus Office. He is the Chairman of Guidelines Working Group on male LUTS of the European Urology Society. He is a Founding member of the Clinical Research Office of the Endourological Society representing Europe.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Endourological Society and a member of the ICUD International Consultation on Stone Diseases. He is a member of the Editorial Board of European Urology and European Urology supplements journals. He was a member of the Editorial Board and Section Editor on New Technologies of the Journal of Endourology.
Author of 132 complete papers published in foreign language peer-reviewed journals and participated in the writing of 13 books (10 foreign languages, 3 Greek).
