Dr. Tonia Adamidi completed her studies at the Medical School of the University of Ioannina and received the specialty of Pulmonology-Tuberculosis at the Thoracic Hospital of Athens Sotiria.
She holds a master’s degree in Health Units Administration and a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Crete on the subject of “The expression of YKL40 and MIP1a proteins in pleural collections”.
She specialises in Cardiopulmonary Fatigue Test and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and is in charge of the Laboratory of Functional Check of the Respiratory System and the Rehabilitation Centre of the Pulmonary Clinic of the General Hospital from 2010 until today.
She has also been in charge of the Diffuse Interstitial Lung Disease Clinic since 2007 with extensive experience in patients with pulmonary fibrosis as well as the biological treatment clinic for severe asthma and the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic for adult patients. She monitors and manages all patients who have undergone lung transplantation. She is also in charge of the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Clinic and coordinates the Right Cardiac Catheterisation in these patients to regulate their medication.

Work Experience:

She joined the Pulmonology Department of Nicosia GH since 2000 as a medical officer A’, from 2010 as Assistant Director and from October 1, 2020 as Director of the Pulmonary Clinic. She has many publications in international and Greek journals and is the author of “The History of Respiratory Medicine in Cyprus” printed by the Government Printing Office in 2011. </p> <p> She participates with lectures in many local and international conferences and is a clinical instructor of Respiratory medicine for Medical Students <br/> from January 2001 until January 2012 she served as the General Secretary of the Thoracic Society of Cyprus for five consecutive terms, and from January 2012 until January 2015 she was theChairperson of Respiratory Society in Cyprus.
