Endocrinologist
Dr Vasiliki Mavroidi graduated from the Medicine Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Crete in Greece. She holds a PhD from the same University, where she studied diabetes and particularly in subjects with kidney disease caused by type I diabetes, the mechanisms of action of the newer antiprotein therapies were investigated, at the level of enzymatic functions of the renal glomerulus and especially the podocyte. She received the specialty Endocrinology – Diabetes – Metabolism at Athens General Hospital “Laiko”. Dr. Vasiliki Mavroidi has participated in more than 60 presentations at international and Greek conferences and publications in prestigious international scientific journals, participated in book chapter writing, participated in research programmes during the preparation of her doctoral dissertation and specialisation, as well as 4 awards (best oral and posted announcement, Young Investigator Award).
