Profile

The Rheumatology Clinic of Limassol General Hospital provides monitoring and treatment to patients with diagnosed autoimmune rheumatic diseases and evaluation for patients referred for possible autoimmune rheumatic diseases or connective tissue disorders. These conditions include different types of arthritis like rheumatoid arthritis, spondylarthritis, and osteoarthritis; autoimmune diseases like lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, scleroderma, myositis; and rare diseases such as relapsing polychondritis, and SAPHO syndrome.

The rheumatologic services offered at the Limassol General Hospital include:

• Outpatient examination and assessment for possible rheumatologic conditions
• Outpatient specialty care for patients with chronic rheumatic diseases
• Diagnostic and therapeutic joint aspirations and injections: intra-articular and soft tissue
• Patient education about the disease and its treatment

Furthermore, there is a Day Care Unit for intravenous administration of biological agents and other therapies.

Appointments

If booking an appointment for the first time, a referral from a physician is required. Appointments can be scheduled at the Rheumatology Department’s reception. During the appointment, patients should bring:

A concise report from the referring physician

Imaging studies related to the health condition (such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans) with their corresponding reports

Biopsy reports (related to the health condition)

Current and previous medication history

Recent blood tests and specific blood tests if applicable.
