The Limassol Occupational Rehabilitation Unit (ORU), is a community programme aiming to provide multi-level support to individuals with Mental Health Difficulties for enabling their social and occupational reintegration in the community.
The Limassol Occupational Rehabilitation Unit (O.R.U.) is a community program under the direction of the Mental Health Services -SHSO. It aims to promote mental health through community interventions and multidimensional support for individuals facing mental health difficulties for enabling their social and occupational reintegration in the community and workforce.
Our Goal
The alleviation of the social exclusion and discrimination against individuals with mental health difficulties and the promotion of their social reintegration through occupational and rehabilitation and social inclusion.
Activities
Assessment and planning of vocational rehabilitation activities
Investigation of the vocational and social skill set of the individual in order to develop personalised reintegration plans
Individual and group programmes for vocational orientation and placement
Guidance and support of individuals at their workplace
Search for appropriate positions in the job market
Individual and family counselling on work-related subjects
Specialised educational programmes
Employee support groups
Social activities and social reintegration groups
Raising awareness among state and community organisations to alleviate discrimination and prejudice in regards to the vocational placement of individuals with mental health difficulties
