Dr. Kokkinos is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, a graduate with distinctions from the University of Genoa in Italy. He specialized in Thoracic Surgery at NIMTS. [MT1] (Medical Institution Military Shareholder Fund) in Athens, and holds professional practice licenses in both Greece and Italy.
Worked initially as a General Surgeon at High Barnett Hospital in London and later in the Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Departments of Carmel, Haifa, and Hadassah Hospitals in Israel. He then received a Fulbright scholarship and moved to the Cardiothoracic Surgical Centre at Brigham & Women’s Hospital of Harvard University in Boston.
Following the above, he worked as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Royal Brompton & Harefield and Hammersmith Hospitals in London.
He was appointed as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Nicosia General Hospital in 1995 and served as the Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department up until January 2022.
Dr. Kokkinos is a member of the Cyprus Medical Association, the Hellenic Society of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeons, the Mediterranean Society of Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), and the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Charities. He has presented and participated in international Conferences and numerous research paper publications in international scientific journals.
