Dr. Georgios Pantelas is the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic of Nicosia General Hospital since 1994 with many years of rich clinical surgery experience (Over 110,000 patients, over 23 thousand surgeries with either local or general anesthesia, and over 6 thousand hospitalised patients) , with a special focus on traumatology and oncology of the oral cavity, cervix, salivary glands.
He graduated from the School of Dentistry and the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki where he continued and acquired the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. He was awarded a Doctorate from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki after completing his doctoral thesis on a specialty-related subject. He underwent postgraduate training in hospitals in England and Germany.
He has been the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic of Nicosia General Hospital since 1993. Elected Clinic Director, representative of the Surgery Departments of Nicosia General Hospital Clinics from 2016 to date and to the Surgery Committee of Nicosia General Hospital since 2015.
Deputy Professor of the Medical School of the European University of Cyprus with students in the Medical and Dentistry Departments. Scientific Associate of the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki at postgraduate level and of the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at undergraduate level. Participation as an instructor in training seminars for nursing school, ambulance crews.
He was the chairman of scientific societies (Cyprus Implant Society, Cyprus Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society 2000-2010, president of voluntary associations (Nicosia District Committee Chairman Saint John Ambulance), Athletic clubs (Chairman of Pancyprian Open Sea Sailing Society)
He was the chairman of the local Famagusta Dental Association and a member of the council of the Pancyprian Dental Association. Member of the board of the European Union Of Medical Specialists (UEMS) Section Of Oro-Maxillo-Facial Surgery, member of the board of the European Association for Cranio maxilla facial Surgery (EACMFS).
Member of the Cyprus Dental Council (3rd term), Member of the Scientific Committee of Cyprus Cancer Association, Commissioner of the Central Committee of Saint John Ambulance.
He has speeches and lectures at over 150 local and international conferences and publications in Greek and international journals. He has also published and co-published two books.
Member of the Editorial Board of the Balkan Journal of Dental Medicine of the scientific society Balkan Stomatological Society from 2004 to date. Member of the Editorial Board of Hellenic Archives of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 2018 to date.
