Hematology
Dr. Margarita Braimi graduated from the 4th Lyceum of Thessaloniki and completed her studies in Greece, at the Medical School of the Aristotle University, after securing a place through the Panhellenic exams. She worked as a Pathology Resident in the 2nd Pathology Department of Agios Georgios Hospital in Chania and specialised in Hematology at the Hematology Clinic and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at G. Papanikolaou Hospital in Thessaloniki.
She was trained in the follow-up of patients who underwent allogeneic bone marrow transplantation in the same hospital and received the degree of Excellence in Thrombosis from IMETHA, after attending postgraduate courses and succeeding in the relevant examinations.
She has publications in both Greek and international journals (peer reviewed journals) and more than 20 oral and written presentations in international conferences. She has been a speaker at local and pan-Hellenic conferences. She is a Scientific Specialist at the Medical School of the University of Cyprus.
She is a member of the European Marrow Transplant Group (EBMT), the Lymphoplastic Diseases Group of the Hellenic Hematological Society and a member of the Hematological Society of Northern Greece as well as the Cypriot Hematological Society. She is particularly interested in marrow transplants and acute leukemias.
